The Shack

If you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, around northwest Houston and your belly is craving a burger, The Shack is the place to go. They have a wide variety of different burgers, which I'm sure are all good, but what makes them unique are the buns. In fact, it's very un-bun-like. It's like a soft, doughy, subtly sweet square bread. I could easily eat the buns alone. And the sides are separate but one order could probably feed four people. It's way too much for one person. And they have tons of bottled beer, mostly from Texas of course.

One warning is that it's outdoor seating on picnic tables. Sure there are canopies to cover the sun and giant fans blowing but if you go when it's hot outside, which is most of the time in Houston, be prepared to sweat.

My recommendation: If you just happen to be in the area, like after shopping at the Premium Outlet, check it out. Their burgers are legit.
