Champ Burger serves up good old fashioned hamburgers. No fancy toppings here, just the usual. Cheese. Bacon. And chili (not so usual). It's not the greatest, i.e. I wouldn't drive 30+ minutes to get, but it's pretty good. The onion rings are awesome. Just know that it's essentially a walk up window (with decorative burglar bars) so be prepared to wait in the Houston heat for your food.
Faux tip: Play it smart and phone in your order in advance so you won't have to wait around in a "not so safe" area of town.
My recommendation: If you're around the East End/Second Ward, check it out.
